Search and Destroy Rick Martin is a seventeen year old boy who doesn’t know what to do with his life. So he joins the army. He goes through jump school and finds out that he can make his trip shorter and he becomes an army ranger. After a little bit of time he gets the nickname “Killer” because of the first time he killed a Vietnamese soldier. And days later they are ambushed and Rick risks his life for a friend. And goes back to America. Does he live? What questions were you left with at the end of this book? The only question I had was, What happened to the rest of the unit when Rick left.
Soldier Boys Spence is sixteen and is in the army of American soldiers. Dieter is also sixteen and is in the German army. Spence is in jump school and is on the jump team of the American army. Dieter is a commander of the German army. Both boys are homesick. Spence tries to go home for Christmas but has no transportation to get home. Both boys are on opposite sides fighting for the same thing. How are you like character in the book? I am like both characters because I would be homesick if I was gone from my family for that long.
