The Game… The Stone Chasers… Romancing the “Stone” The object is to find the location of the lost “Stone” named the ‘Hope Emerald’.

Romancing the Stone…  Your object is to locate the exact place in South America where the missing Stone is. The Stone is no ordinary stone, but rather the largest Emerald in the world, the Hope Emerald, and is considered priceless. In order to locate it, you must piece together the clues from spies in various South American locations.

How it is played…  You and a partner will work to decipher which places on the list you may receive a clue from.  After you have identified the correct city for each set of information, you will receive a clue from the spy in each city.  This clue will point you in a direction and combined with all of the clues, will lead to the final destination of the “Hope Emerald”.

Rules…  I will reveal a clue to the cities about every 2-3 minutes.  If you don’t initially figure out where it is, you may work on the next one.  You may also work on them in any order.  The first pair to find out where the lost “Hope Emerald” is located will receive bonus points and is done.

More rules…  It is important that you do not share your discoveries with other students in the class. Since you want to be the first group done, giving away your clues will hinder that and cause the game to not work as well  Just finishing the game is worth all 40 points. Quitting will not give you all the points.

You will receive this list to be used like a checklist. “The Places in South America where the Spies with the clues are hiding…”  Bogota, Colombia  Manaus, Brazil  Tierra del Fuego, Argentina  Falkland Islands, UK  Montevideo, Uruguay  Mt. Chimborazo, Ecuador  Cayenne, French Guiana  Atacama Desert, Chile  Cerro Aconcagua, Argentina  Ascuncion, Paraguay  Lake Maracaibo, Venezuela  Sao Francisco River, Brazil  Country of Bolivia  Patagonia, Argentina

ANY QUESTIONS…? IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE WE START… NOW IS THE TIME TO ASK….
