Parenthetical Citations Citing sources within your essay Author’s last name, if no author an abbreviated title (usually one word) If using the title you need to use the first major word in the title in quotation marks. Page number of the specific information being used No punctuation between word and number Citation goes within parentheses and the period goes after the second parenthesis

Parenthetical Citation Example Example of quotation from an article with an author One researcher concludes that “women impose a distinctive construction on moral problems, seeing moral dilemmas in terms of conflicting responsibilities” (Gilligan 105). Example of quotation from an article without an author “Women impose a distinctive construction on moral problems, seeing moral dilemmas in terms of conflicting responsibilities” (“Women” 106).

Works Cited Page All research papers must have a works cited page Sources MUST be listed in alphabetical order 1 st line of citation begins at left-hand margin and the following lines in the citation are indented 5 spaces
