What is my task?  You will use your analysis skills to write an essay on Shakespeare’s Othello.  You may choose to respond to the open- ended essay questions or you may choose to focus on a particular theme, issue or character.

Primary vs. Secondary Sources  Primary sources are original materials. They are from the time period involved and have not been filtered through interpretation or evaluation.

What are some examples of primary sources?  Artifacts  Photographs  Works of art or literature (novels, plays, etc.)  Newspaper articles  Speeches
