A Short Tutorial for Dandelion Confluence

In Confluence, you can do more than working with your collaborators on editing documents... Our system allows you to: Tweet status messages to the wiki page while you are working with other collaborators. Tweet status messages to Twitter. Tweet status messages from Twitter website or clients to the wiki page so you can easily keep in touch with your collaborators.

First step: sign up

When you log in, you’ll see a sample page created for your group. This is how it looks like….

In order to enable the Twitter panel from where you can send and read the status messages, you can simply add a Confluence macro “{dandelion-twitter}” into the content when you edit a wiki page. 2: Adding a Twitter Panel to the Wiki page

Enable the Twitter panel in a wiki page. In future edits, please don’t remove the macro otherwise the Twitter panel will be disabled. 2: Adding a Twitter Panel to the Wiki page

For first-time users, the “link with my Twitter account” hyperlink will be displayed after the macro “{dandelion-twitter}” is added into the content. 1. Input your Twitter account and password. 2. Click this button to build the connection. Your passwords will not become accessible to us. They are SAFE. 2: Adding a Twitter Panel to the Wiki page

If you have already linked your Twitter account successfully, the Twitter panel will be displayed when you are back to Confluence interface. 2: Adding a Twitter Panel to the Wiki page

“send this tweet to” allows you to simultaneously send an notification to someone about your tweet. “Private” means you can hide the tweet from other members. You can use this as a personal log. “Protected” means your tweet is only published to Confluence, but NOT to Twitter. 3: Tweet messages from the Twitter panel

You can also tweet your messages from Twitter web site or client to the wiki page. Each message posted from wiki page will be appended with a hash tag, starting with #, and you need add this hash tag if you want to tweet your message from Twitter client directly. 4: Tweet messages from Twitter clients
