Objective Rationale: GCSE is a recognised brand. As many young people as possible - the chance to take and achieve GCSE maths and English, at grade C or above, at 16 or shortly thereafter. Re-taking GCSEs is not appropriate for everyone. Alternative routes are needed.

Are non- GCSEs an effective way to accredit maths and English skills?
