Online Social Networking Web based Gather and maintain a group of friends, fans and followers Start with a real life friendship, shared interest, view, occupation or activity Increase friend count by forging new links with friends of friends (boyd and Ellison, 2007) (Breslin, Passant and Decker, 2009)
