Grievance An issue, concern, problem, or claim (perceived or actual) that an individual or community group wants a company to address and resolve. -- CAO, 2008 Grievance Mechanism A locally based, formalized way to accept, assess, and resolve community complaints concerning the performance or behavior of a company, its contractors, or employees. -- CAO, 2008
