Presentation transcript:

We should not transfer wealth to our children unless we’ve successfully transferred wisdom to them. Without wisdom, wealth will not only be wasted, it will damage our children percent of the time. I’ll make a statement that may seem incredible, but I firmly believe it. If I were the devil and I wanted to ruin a group of Christians, I’d try to get their parents to leave them large amounts of money. That’s how much I’m convinced of the dangers and temptations of unearned

wealth. Everything I’ve learned over the years has convinced me that, in most cases, children who inherit wealth would have been far better off if the money had been put in a burn pile and torched. Randy Alcorn

1: Greed is no respecter of persons. 2. Greed has great blinding power. REASONS FOR THE WARNING

The hardest part of dealing with our materialism is that it has become so much a part of us. Like people who have lived in darkness for years, we have been removed from the light so long that we don’t know how dark it really is. Many of us have never known what it is not to be materialistic. This is why we need so desperately to read the Scriptures…If we were to gain God’s perspective, even for a moment, and were to look at the way we go through life accumulating and hoarding

and displaying our things, we would have the same feelings of horror and pity that any sane person has when he views people in an asylum endlessly beating their heads against the wall. Randy Alcorn
