'A “Hallelujah Day”: The Practise of Celebration'

C.S. Lewis said "Joy is the serious business of Heaven!"

Revelation 21: 3 (NIV) And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

G.K. Chesterton said, "It may be that He has the eternal appetite for infancy; for we have sinned and grown old, and our Father is younger than we!

God is joyful and He wants us to be too…

God is joyful and He wants us to be too… John 15:11 (NIV) I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

God is joyful and He wants us to be too… Philippians 4:4 (NIV) Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

God is joyful and He wants us to be too… Psalm 105:1–2 (NIV) Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.

God is joyful and He wants us to be too… Ephesians 5:20 (NIV) Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God is joyful and He wants us to be too… Colossians 2:6–7 (NIV) So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

God is joyful and He wants us to be too… 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV) Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

God is joyful and He wants us to be too… Nehemiah 8:9–10 (NIV) Then Nehemiah the governor, Ezra the priest and teacher of the Law, and the Levites who were instructing the people said to them all, “This day is holy to the Lord your God. Do not mourn or weep.” For all the people had been weeping as they listened to the words of the Law.

God is joyful and He wants us to be too… Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
