PRESENTATION ON GOVERNMENT’S INTERVENTIONS TO ENSURING FOOD SECURITY IN GHANA. What are the pillars or dimensions for food security? 5 Food security can be based on three (3) main pillars or dimensions. These are: FOOD AVAILABILITY FOOD ACCESSIBILITY FOOD UTILIZATION /USAGE The various interventions taken by the Ghana government to ensuring food security in the country. These are: 1. Youth in agriculture program (YIAP) 2. Agricultural mechanization 3. National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) 4. African Monitoring of Environment for Sustainable Development (AMESD) 5. Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) 6. Savanna Accelerated Development Authority (SADA)

BODY What is the Ghanaian government doing to improve food security? 6 AGRICULTURAL MECHANIZATION.  It is government of Ghana’ initiative.  The agricultural mechanization services enterprise centers (AMSEC) was established to offer tractor to farmers to hire all over the country for land preparation services such as ploughing.
