During that time the colonists had considerable (a lot) experience governing themselves. 1)Why did the colonists have the rights of Englishmen? 2)How did the British government try to tighten control of the colonists?

WOW (under RAP) Lesson 10 The States Govern Themselves Date During the Revolutionary War individual states began writing their own constitutions. What might be a problem with this? -After the Declaration of Independence was signed the colonies became states and were free and independent. -each state had to create their own government. -protect their basic rights -promote common good -used ideas learned from political philosophy and their own experiences with colonial and British government.
