Heavenly treasures and rewards – There are rewards and treasures awaiting us in heaven – Matt. 5:12 “Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great” – Matt. 6:19-21 “treasure” is where your heart is – Matt 19:21 to have “treasure in heaven” we must give up worldly treasures – Luke 12:33 “treasure in heaven” is stored up by doing charitable deeds – Heb 11:6 We must believe that God rewards those who seek Him! Rewards of service – 1 Cor. 3:8 “each will receive his own reward according to his own labor” – Rom 2:6-8 God will render to each according to his deeds – Rev. 22:12 God will reward every person according to his own deeds – Our deeds do not earn salvation, but our deeds are the proof and demonstration of faith…works are necessary for justification (see James 2:14-26) The Gospel of the Kingdom The Kingdom’s Rewards

A heavenly inheritance – Col 3:23-24 “you will receive the reward of the inheritance” – 1 Pet 1:4 “to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you” – Heb. 9:15 those “who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance” – Heb. 10:34-35 it is better than worldly possessions – Are you an heir to the inheritance? A heavenly home – John 14:1-3 “many dwelling places” There is room for all of us! – Rev 21:1-4 a place of comfort in the new Jerusalem in God's presence No sorrows, no pain, no tears in heaven The Gospel of the Kingdom The Kingdom’s Rewards

An eternal and living body – 1 Cor 15:42-53 “an imperishable body” A body that is healthy, whole, and vigorous! – 2 Cor 5:1-4 clothed with life It does not get old, wear out, get tired, get sick, or get weak – John 3:16; Rom. 6:22-23 “eternal life” The Gospel of the Kingdom The Kingdom’s Rewards

A crown – 1 Cor. 9:25 “an imperishable wreath” A reference to athletic contests – 2 Tim 4:8 “a crown of righteousness” All who have loved His appearing will receive it! – Jms 1:12 “crown of life” Given to those who persevere under trail Promised to those who love Him – 1 Pet 5:4 “unfading crown of glory” The Gospel of the Kingdom The Kingdom’s Rewards

How to get the rewards: overcome the world – Rev. 2:7 To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God. – Rev. 2:11 “He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death.” – Rev. 2:17 “To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.” – Rev. 2:26 “He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, TO HIM I WILL GIVE AUTHORITY OVER THE NATION ” – Rev. 3:5 “He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.” The Gospel of the Kingdom The Kingdom’s Rewards

How to get the rewards: overcome the world – Rev. 3:12 “He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My new name.” – Rev. 3:21 “He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” – Rev. 21:17 “He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.” The Gospel of the Kingdom The Kingdom’s Rewards

Summary – There are treasures and rewards awaiting us in heaven – Each person will be rewarded according to his deeds – A heavenly inheritance awaits the heirs – A heavenly home with many dwelling places – Eternal life in an imperishable body – An imperishable crown of righteousness, life, and glory – Those who overcome shall receive these things The Gospel of the Kingdom The Kingdom’s Rewards

If you want to receive these things, you must overcome the world – Jesus Christ has overcome the world (John 16:33) – Our faith overcomes the world (1 John 5:4-5) Obey the Gospel: believe, repent, confess, be baptized, and Jesus will empower you to overcome as well!
