Being part of the Kingdom

Quick Review of last week God intended man to have dominion over the newly established kingdom (this earth) Man submitted that authority to evil God wanted to restore that dominion through Noah, Abram, and others Man constantly loused it up, then Jesus came Dominion was transferred to those who would believe

Criteria of the Kingdom If you’ve made the choice to serve Jesus If you’ve determined to do it His way and not your own If you believe His promises through the Word of God Then you are able to experience that Kingdom today But what does that mean?

Personal Impact Gal 3:26-4:7 What does it mean to be an heir? –You have a part in His dealings –You will be expected to speak on His behalf –You will represent Him after His death –If the world hated Him, they will hate the heir –You will receive current and future inheritance

Relational Impact Relationships function different in the Kingdom than they do on this earth Matt 5:16 – Let your light so shine before men that they may see your works and glorify your Father in heaven Eph 5:4 – filthiness, foolish talking, coarse jesting are not allowed 2 Cor 5:17-19 –Fractured relationships are not part of the Kingdom, they are part of this world

Emotional Impact Certain emotional attributes are not part of the Kingdom: –Fear (2 Tim 1:7), Worry (Phil 4:6), Condemnation (Rom 8:1), Others are: –Love (Eph 3:19), Peace and Joy (Rom 14:7), Patience (2 Thes 3:5), faithfulness (Hos 2:20)

Eternal Impact 1 Cor 2:9 – We can’t even come close to comprehending it Rev 21:9-27 – look at the description The alternative is much different –Cast out with weeping and gnashing (3X) –Bound hand and foot with W&G –Cut in two and cast out with W&G –23 Minutes in Hell – Bill Weiss – Ouch!

So what? (So what are you going to do different?) Choose this day whom you will serve –The World system or the Kingdom system? Where do you invest more of your time? Where are you depositing your treasures? Which one has your affection?

Through Jesus… You’ve been invited to be part of the Kingdom You’ve been given the keys to the Kingdom You’ve been made an heir of the Kingdom You are able to walk in the victory of the Kingdom
