The Title: The Warrior Heir The Author: Cinda Williams Chima Number of Pages: 426 Genre: Fantasy-Action Year Published: 2006

In the present there are strange people with special powers, the highest of them being the wizards. Every once in awhile the two main houses, the house of the red rose and the house of the white rose, would have a competition, where a warrior would compete for the victory of their team by fighting to the death. Jack, an ordinary soccer jockey, has his past opened up to him by his aunt one night and, realizing his heritage, sets up for the difficulties ahead. Being one of the warriors, jack has a bounty on his head, to be either captured by one of the two houses or killed by them. So with the help of some soccer friends, an enchantress of an aunt, an assistant principal, and a flaming sword jack must fight for his freedom.

Enchanter or 3 I say this because, while a good book, the plot had a very well known run. The plot fell about the same as many other books I have read and it was very slow at some points but fast at others. However I loved the characters and the setting and the actual description of how the powers were given was new and interesting.

“Weird is good, strange is bad,” -Fitch “Did you run into an angry dragon?” -Jessamine “Dead fish were surfacing in a growing circle around the melting slush, their pale bellies shining against the murky amusement-park water.” “But that was a hundred years ago,”…”And she fell from a horse!” These were some of my favorite quotes because of how it sounded in or out of the context, or for description.

This picture is the best I could find of a representation of my favorite scene. Think about in the Lord of the Rings movies when the army of the dead come to help at Minas Tirith, but with no opposition, and that’s what the scene would look like.

That was the end, there is no more. Whatsoever. NOTHING No questions, compliments, complaints or others? Good! Distraction Read it! THE END
