Identity:  Image bearers of God  Be fruitful and multiply  Subdue, rule, take dominion CREATION >> FALL >> REDEMPTION >> RESTORATION

Genesis 2:9 The L ORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. CREATION >> FALL >> REDEMPTION >> RESTORATION

Problem:  Adam and Eve changed the source for the entire human race.  The tree is rooted in SELF.  Our way of seeing changed CREATION >> FALL >> REDEMPTION >> RESTORATION

Matthew 23:27-28 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of bones of the dead and everything unclean…” CREATION >> FALL >> REDEMPTION >> RESTORATION

Genesis 3:24 “After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.” CREATION >> FALL >> REDEMPTION >> RESTORATION

Solution:  Jesus is the better source. CREATION >> FALL >> REDEMPTION >> RESTORATION

Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. Hearing God is the central activity for reconnecting to the source and being restored to our design. CREATION >> FALL >> REDEMPTION >> RESTORATION

PLUG IN 2 Tim. 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

PLUG IN Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

PLUG IN The word of the Lord came to Abram… The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah… The word of the Lord came to John… John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning.

PLUG IN God’s language is not symbolic. John 1:3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

PLUG IN Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

PLUG IN Romans 4:17 …the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.

PLUG IN Hebrews 1:2-3 …but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word…

PLUG IN Colossians 1:16-17 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

PLUG IN Our part  Come to Jesus to hear, receive.  Requires humility.

 Identity: bear God’s image, be fruitful, multiply, take dominion  Problem: unplugged from the source of life  Solution: life came to us and we can plug in by faith.  New Creation: recreated in image of God through faith. CREATION >> FALL >> REDEMPTION >> RESTORATION
