1 BIOSYNERGY IP – IT E-LEARNING WEB MODULE INTRODUCTION Part 1 The Objectives and the Approach

2 The Biosynergy IT Web Module BIOSYNERGY IP simplified: consists in: developing multiproduct cellulose-ethanol based biorefinery technology; focussing on valoristion of residues from cellulose ethanol production; combining the bioprocessing and thermochemical pathways; process development from lab-scale to pilot-scale.

3   Contribution to cost-effective use of Biomass through development of integrated, multi product biorefinery technologies for lignocellulosic biomass, notably straw, for the co-production of transportation fuels, chemicals and materials and combined heat and power (CHP).   Valorisation of byproducts (pentoses, lignin) of celulose ethanol production in order to make the production of this biofuel more competitive.   Developing synergistic biorefinery concepts, using advanced fractionation and conversion processes and a combination of thermo–chemical and biochemical pathways. Integrated Project BIOSYNERGY ( ) in detail: The Biosynergy IT Web Module

4 Biorefinery definition: The Biosynergy IT Web Module
