 Columns  Marble Steps  Carvings Characteristics of Greek Architecture

Styles of Greek Columns Doric style is the oldest of the types of Greek architecture. It is very plain. It was developed in the lands occupied by the Dorians. Ionic style originated in Ionia, the southwestern coastland and islands of Asia Minor settled by Ionian Greeks. The Corinthian style is the most elegant. The Corinthian's name comes from the Greek city of Corinth.
