The Progressive Era arose as a response to the vast changes brought by modernization, such as the growth of large corporations and railroads, and fears of corruption in American politics. IN THE SPACE PROVIDED HERE, DRAW A PICTURE OF THE WORD!

Civil Service    MY DEFINITION FOR THE WORD :   system that includes most government jobs (NOT elected positions, court system or military)   USE THE VOCABULARY WORD IN A SENTENCE. The Civil Service Reform Act is an 1883 federal law that established the United States Civil Service Commission. It eventually placed most federal employees on the merit system and marked the end of the so-called "spoils system." IN THE SPACE PROVIDED HERE, DRAW A PICTURE OF THE WORD!
