Background… Theological experts suggest there are 2,000 prophecies in the Bible! 456 O.T. prophecies concerning Jesus Christ, with over 300 of these already fulfilled with His first coming to earth 2000 years ago!

The future is foretold in Biblical Prophecy

I. The Promised Messiah (Remember Gen 3:15, the “seed of the woman”) Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel."

His miraculous birth and many various events Isaiah 9:6-7 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

Predicted - Micah 5:2 2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times."

Fulfilled - Matthew 2:1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem

Predicted - Isaiah 7:14 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

Fulfilled - Luke 1:34 34 "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?“

Fulfilled - Mt 1:23 23 "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means, "God with us."

His many Teachings, Miracles & Promises John 14:2-3 2 In my Father's house are many rooms [mansions]; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am 4 You know the way to the place where I am going."

Predicted - Isaiah 35:3-6 3 Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; 4 say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you." 5 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. 6 Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.

Fulfilled - Luke 7:22 22 So he replied to the messengers, "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.

II. The Mathematical Probability of Prophecy An expert in the area of mathematical probabilities, Peter Stoner wrote in “Science Speaks” that if only 8 of the prophecies in the Old Testament concerning Christ were fulfilled, the probability of their actually coming to pass would be 1 in 10 to the 17th degree… But could Jesus have merely fulfilled these prophecies by accident?  1 in 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000!!!

"Suppose that we take 10 to the 17th power of silver dollars and cover the state of Texas. That’s enough coins to cover the entire state 2 feet deep. Now put an X on just one of those silver dollars and stir the whole mass thoroughly, all over the state. Have a blind man walk the entire state, bend down and pick up the one coin with the X. What would be the odds of him choosing the marked coin? Those are the same odds anybody in history could have fulfilled just 8 of these prophecies.”
