Switching from Short Stack to Big Stack Strategy Strategy: No Limit

Introduction ► Differences between the short stack strategy and the big stack strategy ► Advantages and disadvantages ► What do you have to pay attention to? ► Two important conditions in advance: ▫ Financial cushion ▫ Patience and discipline

Differences ► Differences in technique ▫ Usually no decisions on the turn or the river in the short stack strategy ▫ Later betting rounds are very important in the big stack strategy ► Maximum buy-in with the big stack strategy (usually 100BB). ► The big stack strategy is more difficult, because you must make decisions on the turn and river as well.

Advantages and disadvantages ► Advantages of the short stack strategy ▫ Easy to learn ▫ Low loss per hand possible ► Advantages of the big stack strategy ▫ Larger wins possible ► Disadvantages of the short stack strategy ▫ Only a small win per hand is possible ► Disadvantages of the big stack strategy ▫ Larger losses possible ▫ Difficult to learn

When can / should you change strategies? ► Read the article about the big stack strategy ▫ BSS: Playing before the flop ▫ BSS: Evaluate your hand on the flop ▫ BSS: Playing after the flop ▫ BSS: Odds and outs ▫ BSS: Implied odds ▫ BSS: Bankroll management ► Greater importance of technical abilities ▫ Mistakes are very expensive ▫ Large financial cushion required
