13 Pushing the Boundaries of Technology 4 Innovative Client Solutions Tenova Mining & Minerals southern Africa Client Symposium,Johannesburg, 03 October 2013 Customer Request Tenova Delkor was sole sourced for the thickener package for the Nui Phao Project, Vietnam In order to improve delivery and reduce the plant area, Nui Phao asked if elevated steel tanks for the 55m and 60m thickeners were possible First tank bigger than 50m The Tenova Delkor team developed a detailed design using FEA software The design was submitted to Jacobs and after a number of design iterations related to seismic, loading and footing positions a final tender was submitted In August 2011 – Tenova Delkor was awarded the project

Ongoing Success 15 Pushing the Boundaries of Technology 4 Innovative Client Solutions Tenova Mining & Minerals southern Africa Client Symposium,Johannesburg, 03 October 2013 Due to the successful completion of this project both Tenova Delkor clients as well as staff are know confident in the companies ability to deliver these units. Clients in both Canada and India have placed orders for similar sized thickener tanks on the back of this order and Tenova Delkor is seen as being at the forefront of thickener tank design. The local office provided the Ambatovy mine in Madagascar with the option of an 80m free standing tank for their second ore thickener – which gave them the opportunity to compare against the in-ground concrete design they had used previously.
