 He is the king of Mount. Olympus.  Lord of the Universe.  His symbol is Thunderbolts.

 Queen of Mount. Olympus.  Her symbol is the small staff and the peacock.  When at first, Hera refused Zeus’s proposal, Zeus turned himself into a sad bird and crawled into Hera’s arms for pity, then, he turned himself back into a person and won Hera’s approval.

He is the son of Zeus and Hera. God of smiths and fire. His symbol is a big hammer and crocked legs. His legs are crocked because he sided with Hera when his parents were fighting and it made Zeus so mad that he flung him by the legs out of Olympus. He Flew through the air for a whole day before landing on a island called Lemons, all broken and bruised.

 Goddess of Love and Beauty.  Her symbol is the rose.  When she rose out of the sea on a cushion of foam, Zeus immediately picked her husband for her. He picked Hephaestus. She was not pleased with Zeus’s choice for she desired Ares, Hephaestus’s brother, to be her husband. However she remained married to Hephaestus.  She is the only Olympian without parents.

 God of War.  His symbol is war armor and a dagger.  His brother is Hephaestus.  Ares was tall, handsome, but very vain. Whenever there was war, Ares jumped in his war chariot and went to war. He didn’t care who won or who lost as much as how much blood was shed.

 Goddess of wisdom.  Symbol is the owl.  Athena was the favorite child of Zeus. She sprung fully grown out of her father’s head. Her mother was Métis, who was swallowed by Zeus after a game of shape changing.

 Goddess of the Harvest.  Her symbol is wheat.  Demeter could not stand to be away from her daughter Persephone. Her symbol is sometimes Persephone but it is usually wheat.

Poseidon He is the god of the Sea. His symbol is a trident He was a moody and violent god. He was called the Earth shaker because he struck the ground with his trident and split the Earth in half.

 She is the goddess of spring.  Persephone has no symbol.  Daughter of Demeter.  One day, when Persephone was gathering flowers, a chariot drawn by Hades came out through a crack in the ground and grabbed her.

 He is the god of light and music.  His symbol is the lyre.  He grew rapidly.

Hades  He is the god of the underworld.  His symbol is Cerberus, which is the three- headed watch dog of the underworld.

D IONYSUS He is the god of wine. His symbol is a grapevine or grapes. He is the youngest Olympian, and he is the only Olympian who’s mother is a mortal. His father is Zeus. Hera was jealous of Semele, Dionysus’s beautiful, mortal mother.

 She is the god of the hunt.  She is symbol is a bow and arrow.

Hestia She is the goddess of the hearth. Her symbol is the fireplace. It was very important to keep the hearth going because is was a supply of heat and used for cooking.

Hermes  He is the herald of the gods.  His symbol is winged sandals, a winged hat and the cadacus.  He made the first lyre, but traded it to Apollo for his heard of cows.
