ACT-200 4/24/20152 Purpose of Briefing  To Explain PMI TM ’s Certification Examination Eligibility.  To Explain PMI TM ’s Certification Process.  To Discuss any PM Training/PMI TM Certification Questions.

ACT-200 4/24/20153 Project Management Professional Exam - Eligibility Criteria  Candidates applying for certification as a Project Management Professional must satisfy the educational and experiential requirements for one of the two categories approved by PMI TM at the time of application.

ACT-200 4/24/20154 Eligibility Criteria for Category 1  At the time of application, the candidate  Holds a baccalaureate or equivalent university degree and  Has a minimum of 4,500 hours of project management experience within the five process groups (See Slide 6).  Must have attained the 4500 hours over a minimum of three (3) years.  Experience gained more than 6 years prior to the application date - NOT considered.

ACT-200 4/24/20155 Eligibility Criteria for Category 2  Candidate does not hold a baccalaureate or equivalent university degree but Holds a high school diploma or equivalent secondary school credential, and  Has a minimum of 7,500 hours of project management experience within the five process groups (See Slide 6).  Must have attained the 7500 hours over a minimum of five (5) years.  Experience gained more than eight (8) years prior to the application date - NOT considered.

ACT-200 4/24/20156 Project Management Process Groups  Initiating Process - Recognizing the need for a project & committing to do it.  Planning Process - Devising feasible means to accomplish the objectives.  Executing Process - Coordinating people & other resources to carry out the plan.  Controlling Process - Ensuring that project objectives are met by measuring progress & taking corrective action.  Closing Process - Formalizing acceptance of project product & bringing it to an orderly end.

ACT-200 4/24/20157 Required Supporting Documentation  Current resume detailing work experience and Educational background  (provide name and complete address for all employers and schools attended)  Copy of diploma or transcript for baccalaureate or equivalent university degree  (for Category 1 ONLY)

ACT-200 4/24/20158 Required Supporting Documentation - Cont.  Experience Verification Form(s) indicating  A minimum of 4500 hours over a minimum of three (3) years  (for Category 1 ONLY)  A minimum of 7500 hours over a minimum of five (5) years  (for Category 2 ONLY)

ACT-200 4/24/20159 PMP Certification Process  Obtain Certification Handbook from PMI.  Submit Completed Application Forms with Supporting Documents to PMI.  PMI will Send Eligibility Letter & a List of Sylvan Technology Locations to Applicant.  Call Sylvan Technology Centers & Schedule a Date for Exam.  Current Exam Fee for PMI Members is $ & $ for Non-Members.
