 To examine where what Human Rights are  To explore the origins of Human Rights

 C2.1.1 Understand and respond to spoken language in a range of topics and in a range of contexts.  C2.1.2 Speak to communicate on familiar and unfamiliar topics, using appropriate language, and non- verbal communication and in a range of contexts.  C2.1.3 (a) Take part in formal discussions with two or more other people.

 Who are the people in the images?  What do you think the people in the images wanted?  Why?

 Watch the following clip.  Discuss the clip with the rest of your class  Using A3 PAPER produce a time line with the information you have found out.

 Examine the rights outlined in the Human Rights Act;  Which are the most important rights?  Rank them in order of importance in your opinion  Justify your opinion  s/plain.asp s/plain.asp

 Split into three groups. Chose a key figure in the human rights story For example; Eleanor Roosevelt. You must agree as a group on the person. Next lesson will be a whole class debate on; ‘Who is the most influential figure in the Human Rights movement.’  HOMEWORK:  ALL learners must bring in evidence of research on their person next week.  All learner must identify questions they wish to raise in the debate
