PYP Exhibition Introduction: The Primary Years programme (PYP) exhibition represents a significant event in the life of a PYP school and student, synthesizing the essential elements of the PYP and sharing them with the whole school community. As a culminating experience it is an opportunity for students to exhibit the attributes of the International Baccalaureate (IB) learner profile that have been developing throughout their engagement with the PYP.

Transdisciplinary Theme Who we are An inquiry into the nature of the self; beliefs and values; personal, physical, mental, social and spiritual health; human relationships including families, friends, communities, and cultures; rights and responsibilities; what it means to be human.

Transdisciplinary Theme This unit is all about: who the students are what they really care about what changes they want to make

PYP Key Concepts Form Perspective What is it like? What are the points of view? Function Responsibility How does it work What is our responsibility? Causation Reflection Why is it like it is? How do we know? Change How is it changing? Connection How is it connected to other things?

How can parents help? Parents can: keep informed about the process by reading emails and talking to their child support and encourage their children provide knowledge respect ownership of the process help to access resources – people, places, media and information Celebrate with the students by attending the final presentations.

Visual Journals Students will create a Global Issues Visual Journal They will take pictures, cut newspaper articles They can write questions, cite interesting quotes, draw pictures, create poems, etc. Students should have at least two entries for each of the themes
