What is the EAP? The Early Assessment Program (EAP) measures your English and math skills towards the end of the 11th grade to let you know in advance if you are ready for college.

“Conditionally Exempt” Status: Math Completion of an approved senior Math course with a grade of C or better: Trigonometry and Math Analysis Pre-Calculus Calculus AP Calculus AB AP Calculus BC AP Statistics AP Physics OR Enroll in the CSU E-Learning course
English scores
“Conditionally Exempt” Status: English Completion of an approved senior English course with a grade of C or better: Expository Reading and Writing Course (ERWC course) AP English Language and Composition AP English Literature and Composition International Baccalaureate (IB) English Weighted Honors English course (indicated on UC doorways with a )
Can I avoid the ELM and the EPT Exams? YES! Your EAP scores can exempt you from the CSU placements exams.
Exemptions from the English Proficiency Test (EPT): SAT Verbal/Critical Reading score is 500 or higher. English ACT score is 22 or higher. AP Language and Composition or AP Composition and Literature score is 3 or higher. International Baccalaureate English test score is 4 or higher. EAP Score is “College-Ready”
Exemptions from the Entry-Level Mathematics (ELM): SAT Math score is 550 or higher. Math ACT score is 23 or higher. AP Math score is 3 or higher. International Baccalaureate math test score is 4 or higher. EAP Score is “College Ready.”
