You have been invited to a party that is in the Victorian Era! The next slides are going to tell you how to dress, how to act, and we will tell you about the history and the entertainment, as well!

WOMENMEN  During the Victorian Era, the women wore knee high stockings  Camisole colored according to the gown color  Corset  Gown  Accessories such as…  Necklace  Bracelet  gloves  bonnet  Thin-soled kid slippers accompanied the ball gown  During the Victorian Era, the men wore a vest or a waistcoat  Top hats, derbies, or bowlers  Frock coat, tailcoat, sack suit  Trousers  Fully cut shirt  Cravat  Pocket watch  Walking stick  gloves

 The Victorian Era had different forms of entertainment.  They would watch a magic lantern show  They would listen to the piano and singing  They would play charades  They would also ballroom dance

 During the Victorian Era people would have very formal manners  You would need to greet guests  Look respectful and classy ex: suits and gowns  Say “Hello madam, how is your evening so far?  Act like you belong in the upper class society  Men will bring gorgeous rich women and women will bring respectful rich men

 Dance elegantly  Pick up your pinky when you eat or drink (classy gesture)  Men will greet women with a kiss on the hand  Bow to the host or hostess  Raise your glasses to them for a proposal  Men can also say “May I have this dance?”

 The period of Queen Victoria’s reign from June 20, 1837 until her death on January 22, 1901  This period was a period of peace, prosperity, and national self confidence for Britain.  The Victorian period is often divided into two parts.  The early Victorian and late Victorian period.  During this period, England changed from rural, agricultural, to an urban industrialized one.  Over the period, there were changes and developments in every sphere of life.
