the Facts... There are no pre-requisites for any of the level 1 art classes. All level 1 & 2 art classes are open to freshmen as well as all upper classmen. You need to pass a Level 1 class to take a Level 2 Art class. AP Studio Art Classes are open to only Juniors and Seniors who have taken Level 1 & 2 of the course they are interested in. We offer AP Studio Art in Drawing & Painting, Photography, Jewelry, and Ceramics. These classes have a weighted grade. IB Art is open to Juniors and Seniors who are in the IB program. It is suggested that IB students take a 3D and a 2D Art course during their freshman and/or sophomore year. Students who have had arts education have higher SAT scores than other students.

Drawing & Painting We offer Levels 1, 2. 3 and 4 of this course. Level 1 & 2 are open to freshman and all upper classmen. (but you have to complete Level 1 to take Level 2, level 2 to take 3, etc.) Level 3 & 4 are open to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. If you take Levels 1, 2 and 3 you can take AP Studio as a Junior, or a Senior. You can earn college credit for this course even if you do not want to major in Art or go to Art School. AP Studio Art is a weighted grade.

Photography We offer Levels 1 and 2 of this course. Level 1 & 2 are open to freshman and all upper classmen. (but you have to complete Level 1 to take Level 2) If you take Levels 1 and 2 you can take AP Studio as a Junior or a Senior. You can earn college credit for this course even if you do not want to major in Art or go to Art School. AP Studio Art is a weighted grade.

(but you have to complete Level 1 to take Level 2) This course is about creating logos, illustrations, posters, advertising and more. If you take Levels 1 and 2 you can take AP Studio as a Junior or a Senior. You can earn college credit for this course even if you do not want to major in Art Art or go to Art School. AP Studio Art is a weighted grade.

Art History We offer Levels 1 and 2 of this course. Level 1 & 2 are open to freshman and all upperclassmen. (You can take either course without a pre-requisite) Level 1 is about ancient art (Egypt, Greece, Renaissance and more). Level 2 is about ( High Renaissance, Europe, Impressionism, Modern art and more. This course is about learning about the artists and styles across time. The facts and the mysteries.

Sculpture We offer Levels 1 and 2 of this course. Level 1 & 2 are open to freshman and all upper classmen. (but you have to complete Level 1 to take Level 2)

Ceramics We offer Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4 of this course. Level 1, 2 and 3 are open to freshman and all upper classmen.
