Baptism and the Lord’s Supper 1. In the biblical sense, what does the word “ordinance” mean? A decree or regulation; a religious rite; institution of divine authority found in the church.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper 2. What does the term :baptism” (baptizo) mean? To immerse or submerge; to overflow or cover with water; to wet thoroughly or moisten; to overwhelm or over power.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper 3.What does baptism mean to the Born Again believer? It is the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper 4.Under what condition would a person need to be baptized more than once? If that person was baptized as a child and was not a Born Again believer and had no understanding of what was going on. Once we accept Christ and come into the knowledge of what water baptism really means, we can do it again.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper 17. Who can receive communion? Any Born Again believer. 18.How often should we take communion? According to 1 Cor 11:25-26, there are are no specific times. Most ministries observe this ordinance once per month, usually on the 1 st Sunday.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper Cor 11;29 speaks of eating and drinking unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. Who then is worthy and how is he made worthy? The believer is made worthy through the atoning blood of Jesus, confession of sins, right fellowship with his/her neighbor. A person with a righteous heart positions them for communion.
