(in the Christian Church) the religious rite of sprinkling water onto a person's forehead or of immersion in water, symbolizing purification or regeneration and admission to the Christian Church. In many denominations, baptism is performed on young children and is accompanied by name-giving.

Baptism is a very important ceremony in Christian. You use water to baptize people to erase sins. Baptism is always done in the name of the Trinity, signified by the sign of the cross, and the words "In the name of the Father, the Son and of the Holy Spirit. The one that baptize people is a priest. Different church have different way of baptism.

When a person is baptized in water, his or her body is totally immersed in the water and brought out again. The awesome significance of water baptism is that it symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and our identification with Him in them. When we are being baptism we are put in the water that is to remove our sins

While baptism is a sign & a promise of the washing away of sin, it is only Christ's death on the cross which secures actual forgiveness of sins, and that is why both water & the sign of the cross are used together in baptism.

They are dressed with white cloths. The priest does cleansing to his self in church to clear him from his own sins and get blessing to bless the people. The priest take the water than poured a little to his forehead. While the priest is pouring water on the forehead they also pray This action usually was performed with their parents and godparent.
