Chapter 3 BAPTISM

Christ's Baptism ● Matthew 3:13-17 ● Mark 1:9-11 ● John 1:29-34 ● Luke 3:15-22

Why did Jesus get Baptized? ● 1) To make the water holy. ● 2) To show us his willingness to embrace his humanity. ● 3) To show us the value of self-emptying. ● 4) To show us the way to heaven.

Who can be baptized? ● Anybody who has not previously been baptized. ● Because of the indelible (permanent) mark left by baptism, it can not be received again...even if you were baptized in another faith.

Types of Baptism ● By water (normal way) ● By blood (martyrs upon death) ● By desire (catechumen upon death) ● Babies/infants upon death
