The Festival of Nettle in Krapivna

The Festival of Nettle has been held annually since 2002 in the middle of June in the old Russian settlement Krapivna. The name of this place is connected with the word Nettle.

In this provincial town nettle is loved and valued. Nettle is a symbol of the Festival and of the whole town. You can see its leaves on the town’s emblem.

The Festival of Nettle is a good opportunity to discover Russian history, culture and traditional Russian spirituality.

You will not only enjoy folk singing and dancing, but you will know much about useful properties of nettle.
