Socialism vs Communism  Socialism = a social and economic system where there is social ownership of the means of production and co-operative management of the economy.  Communism = a social and economic system where there is social ownership of the means of production and characterized by the absence of social classes, money, and the state.

Socialism vs Communism?  Originally "socialism" and “communism” were used interchangeably.  Karl Marx and Frederic Engels changed everything with their “Communist Manifesto” in They saw socialism as one step in the overhaul of a society.  According to Marx & Engels:  “Socialism” = some of the industry and property commonly owned but class differences remain.  “Communism” = class differences had disappeared, people lived in harmony, and government was no longer needed. Abundance and social harmony would make it possible for one to do as they pleased. Working for economic necessity would give way to truly voluntary activity.

Communism in brief  Philosophy – From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.  Economic System – Common ownership; No private property; No money needed  Religion – Abolished.  Political System – None.  Class Structure – No classes. All is equally shared.
