 The Peace and Freedom Party is a left-wing political party who is a strong advocate in protecting the environment from pollution and nuclear waste. It advocates personal liberties and universal, high quality and free access to education and health care. Its understanding of socialism includes a socialist economy, where industries, financial institutions, and natural resources are owned by the people as a whole and democratically managed by the people who work in them and use them.

 The Peace and Freedom Party’s perspective on the role of government in the political world is that they believe the government should strive for peace, jobs, justice and equality of the individual. They believe the civil liberties of the individual should be rightfully protected by the government.  They are liberal in this world because they believe government should work accordingly to the people’s rights

 The Peace and Freedom Party’s perspective on the government’s role in the economic world is that they believe it should regulate businesses in order to protect the rights of workers and to prevent monopolies. They believe that the capitalist economy starts out with competition for personal profit and ends up with huge monopolies which waste resources.  They are conservative in this world because they believe the government should regulate businesses to prevent exploitation of workers and the rising of monopolies by the 1%.

 The Peace and Freedom Party’s perspective on the role of government in the social world is that they believe that the struggle against oppression and discrimination based on class, race or nationality, age, or physical disability should be actively pursued. They fight for each person's right to be well clothed, well housed, and well fed. They want free high equality health care as a right, not a privilege.  They are Liberal in this world because they believe the government should provide a safety net for the individual.

 The Peace and Freedom Party’s perspective on the role of government in the cultural world is that they actively support the struggle to eliminate oppression and discrimination based on sex or sexual orientation. They believe that the struggle against sexism should be actively pursued. Respect the right of all individuals to control their own bodies, including free abortion on demand.  They are liberal in this world because they believe in maximum liberty in personal matters
