Minor Parties in the US Hard to classify Some are single issue Some are regional Some are only in one state Can create 4 distinct types of parties to classify

Ideological Parties Based on a particular set of beliefs Social, economic, and political views Most created on shade of Marxist thought Socialist, Socialist Labor, Socialist Worker, and Communist parties Some have different approach Libertarian Party Call for greater individual freedom, remove many of governments functions and programs These are long lived parties Rarely gain many votes
