PLSB – Act 1323 AELS Website to comply with § Effective March 1, 2014, school hiring officials are required to check the ADE Arkansas Educator Licensure System (AELS) to determine whether the applicant has been found to have violated Standard 1 of the Code of Ethics involving sexual abuse of a student. The law defines sexual abuse of a student and also covers students who are eighteen (18) years of age but who are still enrolled in a school.
