 Only the students having admission requirements completed with a 2.5 GPA by the application deadline will be considered for selection.  The Registered Nursing Program is now using a Multi Selection Criteria and Ranking process for student selection. Please refer to the Admission Criteria information on the next slide as well as posted on the Nursing and Allied Health Website.  Applicants with the highest ranking will be notified by mail 4-6 weeks after the close of the application period. CPR Card – American Heart Association Health Care Provider VN Program also requires a First Aid. Physical Exam Clearance and Vaccination History/Titers Background Check Clearance FOR RN PROGRAM ONLY: Provisional applicants will be given the ATI Diagnostic Assessment Tool (TEAS – Test of Essential Academic Skills – Math, English, Reading and Science). Passing score is 67%. The student’s composite score will be added to the admission criteria ranking for the final Admission Criteria score. Information and directions for the above requirements will be included in the provisional acceptance letter.

 The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is an assessment tool administered to RN Program applicants. It is an assessment of Math, English, Reading and Science knowledge and requires a cumulative passing score of 67%.  Effective with the Mt San Jacinto College nursing program’s new selection criteria, this test will be given to the applicants who are notified of provisional acceptance based upon their points in the Multi Selection Criteria Process. The results of the TEAS test will be added to the accumulated points for final review for program selection.  Students who do not achieve 67% on the first testing will be invited to a success strategies session and then be eligible to retake the Teas. MSJC does not accept a passing score beyond two (2) attempts. For prospective students, this policy means if you have taken the TEAS more that two times, with a failing score (less than 67%), you are ineligible for the Mt. San Jacinto Nursing Program.  Students who have previously taken the TEAS test and have successfully passed should request their scores to be electronically transmitted to Mt.
