Once a student has submitted or finalized a session, he or she cannot return to those items. Students are permitted to take personal breaks, as needed.

All other computer based exams will consist of multiple choice, multi-select, equation response, and technology enhanced questions (using online tools and manipulatives).

© 2014, Florida Department of Education. All Rights Reserved. FSA Format – Tools Provided Grades 3 and 4 paper based assessment will not require the use of tools (rulers or protractors, etc). Questions may require students to read a picture of tool to answer a question. Computer based tools provided: Global Tools are those that appear at the top of the screen in the dark gray banner. Stimulus/Question Tools are specific to stimuli and questions, and are accessed by clicking on an icon or right-clicking in the stimulus, question, or answer option areas. These may include rulers, protractors, or other necessary items.

© 2014, Florida Department of Education. All Rights Reserved. Calculator type: Scientific Calculator for All. No items on the current Mathematics FSA require the graphing tool in order to solve them. A scientific calculator is sufficient for all items in the calculator session(s) of the Mathematics FSA. Therefore, students may use the computer-based scientific calculator or a hand-held scientific calculator when taking an Mathematics FSA (Grade 7, Grade 8, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2). The Draft Mathematics Policy document will be revised to include a list of prohibited functionalities for scientific calculators (rather than approved models)​.
