What is a Transcript? 4 Transcript is a document which lists: –All high school classes –Summer school classes –Number of credits you attempted and completed – Academic GPA – Total GPA –Class ranking –Attendance –Immunizations.

Defining Transcript (Continued) 4 Your transcript goes with you if you transfer schools. 4 It is a life long document.

Transcript Decoders 4 CP= College Prep 4 CH= College Honors 4 AP= Advance Placement 4 N= Non Academic (Sports, PE)

Transcript Decoders 2 4 GPA= Grade Point Average 4 CRD ATT= Credits Attempted 4 CRS ID= Course Identification 4 Credit Summary REQ= Required CMP= Completed DEF= Deficient

Grades and Credits 4 Earning Credits: –You receive 5 credits when you successfully complete a class by earning a 2, 3, or 4. 4 NP: –You receive NO CREDIT. You must REPEAT the class in SUMMER SCHOOL.

Grade Point Average 4 Academic GPA: Excludes PE/Sports 4 Total GPA: Includes PE/Sports 4 NP’s are worth 0. 4 Honors Point: Add 1 point per class. 4 Advanced Placement: Add 1 point per class.

Calculating Your GPA 4 Example: Algebra3 Biology3 Language Arts2 Physical Ed4 Elective2 Elective3 Add together= 17 Divide by 6= 2.83 GPA 4 Add the total number of grades and divide by the number of classes you have.
