Expenses Busing Porta Johns Tables & Chairs Hard Hats Work Gloves Safety Glasses Lumber for Activities Concrete Tee Shirts Student Bags Rescue Security Insurance Golf Carts Refreshments Miscellaneous

Contributors Rhode Island Department of Transportation Rhode Island FHWA Office Rhode Island T2 Center Construction Industries of Rhode Island Junior Achievement New England Transportation Technician Certification Program New England Laborers Academy Rhode Island Builders Association Beacon Mutual Insurance Company

It is Important to Note that Most Sponsors, Contributors, Partners, Participants, Exhibitors, Volunteers etc.. Make Construction Career Day part of their Work Plan and Plan on it Every Year. The First Year is the Toughest!

Expense Summary 2006 Event $36, % Government Funding 60% Private Industry Donations Value of In Kind Donations

Priceless! Cost to use facility $ 0.00 Cost to use equipment $ 0.00 Cost to clean up facility $ 0.00 Cost of 43 of the 48 buses $ 0.00

Estimated Value of In Kind Services Approximately five times the actual amount of money spent to conduct the event $ 180,564.00

Who Supplies the Handouts? Construction Industries of Rhode Island supplies the Hardhats (with their logo) Beacon Mutual Insurance Company supplies the Work Gloves & Safety Glasses The New England Laborers Union supplies the Canvas Bags (with their logo) Many Organizations donated Materials, Supplies and individual handouts

How do we get Organizations to Contribute? We Ask! Sometimes organizations will contact you after hearing about the event and offer assistance.

It is Important to Remember: There is no Magic Funding Formula It is sometimes better (and easier) to receive handouts or materials than money. National companies (Subway, McDonalds, Loews, Home Depot etc..) may contribute to one event and not another. Always check with your local stores.

It is Important to Remember: Be careful what you agree to pay for. It is sometimes difficult to cut back. Schools can contribute to the event or pay their own way. Some events cost a little – Some cost a lot. It is up to each Planning Committee to control their own finances.
