 They played board games, puzzles, and cards. Also, they played rolling hoops, walking on stilts, or a game of ninepins.

 Men wore: a coat, breeches, and stockings  Women wore: a hat, lace neck kerchief, stomacher

 In the New England Colonies parents taught their kids to read so they could read the Bible. They would go to grammar Schools, which helped you get in to college.  In the Middle Colonies kids usually went to private schools.  In the Southern colonies kids were taught at home by tutors and sons usually later went to Europe to get taught.  Schools used special books called hornbooks.  Girls didn’t go to school.

 Basket maker: Made homemade baskets and they could carry things.  Blacksmiths: Crafted tools and hardware for homes and fellow tradesmen.  Silversmith: Sculptures silver from when they first pour all the way to the finish.

Slavery Why did this practice come to America?  It came because Americans needed a way to get all of their plants picked and so they got Africans to do it. Which region became most dependent upon it and why?  The Southern Colonies became the most dependent on it because they had very big fields and if they didn’t have the slaves they couldn’t get there plants.

Shelters  If you were poor then you would live in a house dug in the ground  If you were middle class than you would live in a 1 to 2 room house usually having an attic.  If you were rich in the south than your family would live your life on a plantation with slaves.

Furnishings  Furnishings in the colonial times were usually made of wood and looked very delicate. Unlike todays they were very elegant and the ones today are made in factories.
