New Papworth Hospital Bidders’ Day 7 September 2010

Papworth Hospital Best performing Foundation Trust. International centre of excellence. Largest specialist cardiothoracic centre in the UK. National patient surveys put Papworth in the top 20% of hospitals. Achieved 58 out of 60 passes in CQC Quality ratings and meet all CQC core standards.

Papworth Hospital – why move? The current site has some good facilities but the infrastructure is old, clinical adjacencies are poor and patient privacy is an issue. Difficulty meeting increasing demand. The hospital is located on an isolated site with poor transport links. Patient care, research and education.

Cambridge University Health Partners Papworth Hospital is a founding member. One of only five Academic Health Science Centres in England recognised by the Department of Health as internationally competitive centres of excellence in the integrated delivery of health care, health research and the education of health professionals. Aims to improve patient care, patient outcomes and population health through innovation and the integration of service delivery, health research and clinical education.

To provide a landmark building of which patients, public and staff will be proud. To provide modern facilities that will provide a first- class environment for patients and the highest quality care.
