The Penguins’ Debut

Waddle, waddle. Slip and slide. Dive down deep. Catch some fish and swim away happy. Aahh! The life of a penguin. Let’s explore the differences and the similarities between two different types of fascinating birds.

Size, diet, and location are three ways that the macaroni penguin and the king penguin are different. The macaroni penguin eats crustaceans and krill. On the contrary, the king penguin eats mainly fish and some squid. Another way these two precious birds are different is their size. A king penguin is about 3 feet tall and about 35 pounds. However, the macaroni penguin is about 2 feet tall and about 14 pounds. Additionally, their appearance is different. The smaller macaroni penguin has yellow and black feathers sticking out of the side of their heads, unlike the larger king penguin that has orange spots near their ears and on their necks. King Macaroni

Have you ever thought about all the similarities between different types of penguins? Both the macaroni penguin and the king penguin are flightless marine birds that lay eggs. An important way that these precious birds are alike, is that they have strong webbed feet for swimming. Additionally, both of these black and white creatures have a lifespan of 15 to 20 years.

Unquestionably, Penguins are amazing birds; not the kind that fly but flightless marine birds. Obviously, there are many similarities and differences between these two kinds of penguins. The macaroni penguin and the king penguin are both incredible and unique.
