King Penguins have a completely white stomachs with a bit of yellow above their chest. They have black backs, black flippers and black webbed like feet. Their head is also black except for two yellow patches, one on their beak and one before their eye. They have feathers all over them.

 There are plenty predators for the penguin such as the sea lion, leopard seals and killer whales although they can only get them in the sea. The penguins don’t really have any predators on land except for gull like birds called skuas that take eggs and baby chicks.  This is a skua.

 Penguins always find food in the water, never on land. Penguins are carnivores. They eat fish, squid and shrimp. Like people that are vegetarian there are a few kinds of penguin that only eat fish, they’re called piscivorous. Although because they eat so much fish, they get very smelly!

 The parent penguin has an egg and the parents take turns to guard their eggs. If it’s a king penguin, it will usually look after its chicks for 15 months. Even though baby penguins are the same kind as their parents they look completely different!  Baby king adult King Penguin

Most of them are found in the sub Antarctica region. Other locations include the Falkland Islands, Prince Edward Islands, and Southern Georgia. Smaller numbers of them are scattered throughout both New Zealand and Australia. Falkland islands
