GOALS OF FACULTY GOVERNANCE SUMMIT Make Faculty Governance more inclusive of all faculty and all programs. Make Faculty Governance more responsive to the needs of faculty and the university Make Faculty Governance more efficient.

REPRESENTATION ON THE FACULTY COUNCIL To be determined no less often than annually by the FC. As of July 1, 2014, representation will consist of the following: Four BS reps, one from each of the geographic centers; One rep from each of the other academic programs; University Librarian, ex officio; and, Chairs of FC Committees who are not otherwise program representatives on the FC.

Three year terms to begin on July 1 Year 1: understand committee work Year 2: participate fully Year 3: lead as senior member of committee or chair of committee. Faculty may serve multiple non-consecutive terms. TERMS OF OFFICE FOR FC AND ALL UNIVERSITY COMMITTEES

Dissolve the BS Steering Committee – BS Major chairs communicate faculty matters to BS Deans’ Council Dissolve the BS Appeals Committee Reconfigure COAT so that it represents all BS and BA majors. BS PROGRAM COMMITTEES

Efficient and regular communication from faculty to the faculty governance structure and vice versa is essential. Goal of these changes is to improve the two-way communication. COMMUNICATIONS
