Course Title (1): Homewood BME Design Associates- BME Design Team –Longitudinal teams: freshmen-seniors –Team leaders are seniors: competitive process for selection –Required for ½ freshmen BMEs –Work with upperclassmen on ‘fun’ projects e.g. Amusement park with Holter monitor –Industrial contacts provide design projects –Project proposals are written for customer. Work is done primarily in the Spring Semester –Past projects: Johns Hopkins University

–Seminar style course –Speakers from large companies (Merck, DuPont, Medtronic, Abiomed (implantable artificial heart)), as well as small companies –Speakers once/week Spring semester 1/3 of speakers have their own companies –Students network with speakers after presentation Course Title (2): BME in the Real World Johns Hopkins University
