DRAFT IEPs Please disregard the guidelines for DRAFT IEPs that were provided to you in November 2007 and February 2008 and replace it with the following guideline. The following guideline regarding the use of the DRAFT IEP is intended to support a productive IEP Team meeting.

DRAFT IEPs Parents should be provided a copy of the DRAFT IEP prior to the meeting so that they have an opportunity to prepare for the meeting and are better able to engage in a full discussion during the meeting. You may want to ask the parents to submit any ideas, comments, or changes that they would like to see included on the IEP.

DRAFT IEPs Revisions made to the DRAFT IEP during the course of the meeting should be recorded on the document maintained by the meeting recorder. Parents should be given a copy of the recorder’s document at the conclusion of the meeting. Parents may keep the copy on which they've made notes.

DRAFT IEPs The revisions made to the DRAFT IEP during the meeting are the IEP in effect and must be placed in Module 2 of the student’s official educational record. The changes are then recorded in Goalview. Within ten days of the meeting, the FINAL IEP must be provided to the parent as Prior Written Notice of our service proposal.

DRAFT IEPs A copy of the FINAL IEP version must be placed in Module 2 of the student’s official educational record, replacing the edited DRAFT IEP.

DRAFT IEPs Any discrepancies or disagreements between the marked up DRAFT IEP and the FINAL IEP can be resolved through the IEP Amendment process or by reconvening the IEP meeting

IEP Goals On January 19, 2009, the updated version of Goalview was released for your use. Each of you has participated in training activities with the new product through the Goalview contact at your school. One of the areas included in the roll-out training involves IEP goals and objectives.

IEP Goals The goals and objectives page in Goalview contains a field addressing Methods of Evaluation of the goal and objective.

IEP Goals Eval Methods Other Eval Not Evaluated State Assessments Norm Referenced Observation Informal Criterion Referenced Portfolio Curriculum Based Work Samples

IEP Goals This field remains a required field and must be addressed. An IEP document will not be complete without Methods of Evaluation stated on the IEP document itself.

IEP Goals The Methods of Evaluation stated on the IEP serve as our indicators to monitor student progress on the IEP goals and objectives. Progress on IEP Goals and Objectives are reported at least quarterly to parents through the Goalview Progress Report function.

IEP Goals Please be reminded that you must maintain data on each of the Methods of Evaluation as documentation of IEP implementation.
