ENGLISH IV HONORS BELL WORK TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2014 GET OUT YOUR NOVEL FROM SUMMER READING. YOU WILL ALSO NEED MAP PENCILS, MARKERS, AND A PEN. *** WE WILL RESUME SPEECHES TOMORROW WHEN I RETURN!

ONE-PAGER ASSIGNMENT TODAY YOU WILL CREATE A ONE-PAGER ANALYSIS FOR YOUR NOVEL. THE ONE-PAGER INSTRUCTIONS ARE DIFFERENT FROM WHAT YOU HAVE SEEN IN THE PAST, SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL REQUIRED PARTS ON YOUR FINISHED PRODUCT. YOU WILL BE GRADED ON EFFORT AND CREATIVITY, NOT ARTISTIC ABILITY. IF YOU DO NOT FINISH IN CLASS, THIS IS FOR HOMEWORK. PLEASE USE YOUR TIME WISELY.

ONE-PAGER REQUIREMENTS TITLE: TRY TO BE CREATIVE WITH YOUR TITLE. CAN YOU INCORPORATE SOMETHING FROM THE NOVEL INTO THE WORDS OF THE TITLE? AUTHOR VISUAL REPRESENTATION OF YOUR NOVEL, THIS CAN BE HAND DRAWN, CUT OUT OF A MAGAZINE OR PRINTED OFF OF A COMPUTER. HOWEVER, I DO NOT WANT A COMPUTER-GENERATED ONE PAGER. QUOTES: INCLUDE 3 QUOTES FROM YOUR NOVEL THAT WERE PARTICULARLY INTERESTING OR IMPACTED YOU IN SOME WAY. MAKE SURE TO USE QUOTATION MARKS AND PARENTHETICAL CITATIONS FOR EACH QUOTE. THEME: EACH NOVEL HAD MANY THEMES. CHOOSE ONE AND WRITE IT SOMEWHERE ON YOUR PAPER. REMEMBER THAT A THEME IS NOT A SUBJECT AND THEREFORE CANNOT BE ONE WORD! PERSONAL RESPONSE: WRITE 5-8 SENTENCES THAT ARE A PERSONAL RESPONSE TO YOUR NOVEL. DID YOU LIKE THE NOVEL? WHY OR WHY NOT? WHAT CONNECTIONS DID YOU HAVE TO THE NOVEL OR ITS CHARACTERS? WHAT DID YOU TAKE FROM THE NOVEL? THESE ARE JUST IDEAS. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ANSWER EACH ABOVE QUESTIONS. JUST MAKE SURE YOUR PERSONAL RESPONSE IS DETAILED AND PERSONAL! FINALLY, THIS SHOULD BE HONORS-LEVEL WORK.
