Room Classroom Procedures Ms. Benner 7 th Grade Math (MJ 2/MJ 2 Adv.) August 19 th, 2013

When entering the classroom… Wait on the right side of the hallway for me before entering the classroom. Find your assigned seat – Quickly and Quietly Get out homework and have it visible in the upper corner of your desk. Sharpen your pencil if necessary before bell. Write important homework and information into your agenda Work on the Bell Ringer

Restroom It is best if you use the restroom between classes If there is a need to use the restroom during class choose appropriate times to ask permission from the teacher. Examples of when not to ask are: When the teacher is teaching new material When the teacher is giving directions The best time to go during class is during student work time NOT teacher’s teaching time.

Pencil Sharpening Every student should bring a pencil to class If your pencil is dull and is in need of sharpening you may trade it out for a sharpened pencil If you do NOT have a pencil to trade then you must ask permission to BORROW a pencil from the teacher.

Student Handbook All rules in the Windy Hill Middle School Student Handbook are to be followed in this classroom. No food or drinks will be permitted (including gum). Dress Code is to be followed.

Materials Materials that will be needed daily include Agenda Math Notebook Math Workbook Pencil – NO INK!! (In class or on homework) Homework/Assignments You MUST bring all materials with you to class. Failure to be prepared for class will result in a write up in your agenda.

Turning in Homework/Assignments All homework and assignments are to be turned in on time. Any late assignments will NOT be scored. These assignments are to all be turned into the proper place on the red shelves with the proper heading (Next Slide)

Proper heading All papers should be headed with the following information in the upper right hand corner – Name Date Assignment Name Class Period

If You Are Absent… You are responsible for turning in any assignments that were due on the date of your absence. You are also responsible for collecting any papers or assignments that were given while you were out. You are responsible for turning in these assignments and they will be collected for full credit IF EXCUSED!

Test-Taking On test dates the classroom is to be quiet at all times. Any talking during test taking will result in a ZERO. If you have questions or concerns you may raise your hand for my attention.

Classroom Rules #1: Follow Directions Quickly #2: Raise your hand for permission to speak #3: Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat #4: Make Smart Choices #5: Make Your Dear Teacher Happy (My favorite one)

Substitutes When I am unable to be in class a substitute will take over. The same rules and guidelines are applied and it is expected that you show the guest respect at all times.

Time to Pack Up! The bell does not dismiss you, Ms. Benner dismisses you. When it is time to pack up and leave Ms. Benner will let you know. You desk and area around you is to be clean and organized.
